IMEP is best conducted utilizing two classrooms, with handicap restrooms nearby. The rooms should be large enough to comfortably seat 10 to 14 people. Rooms should be well-lit and provide ample space to accommodate assistive devices such as walkers and wheelchairs.
One room can be utilized for activities and lunch, and can have the tables arranged in a U shape with the white board in front. A side table for refreshments and supplies can be set up in the back of the room.
The other room can be used for chair exercise and guided relaxation and should have a TV with a DVD player and a CD player. Chairs can be arranged in a circle for guided relaxation, and arranged in front of the TV for chair exercise.
